Baozhong tea, a lightly oxidized oolong tea with 8–12% fermentation and no roasting, offers a refreshing take on traditional oolongs. Its minimal oxidation preserves a delicate, floral aroma and light, fresh flavor that sets it apart from the creamier or roasted profiles of typical oolong teas.

Sourced from Qingxin Oolong (青心烏龍) tea trees, renowned for their aromatic richness, our Baozhong tea showcases a unique fragrance and taste. This cultivar enhances the tea’s osmanthus blossom aroma, delivering an initial fresh vegetal note that transitions into a lingering sugarcane sweetness in the aftertaste. With every sip, you’ll experience a tea that’s both vibrant and elegantly smooth, reflecting the harmony of nature and craftsmanship.

Our Baozhong tea comes from Pinglin (坪林), a tranquil region in Taiwan celebrated for its pristine natural environment and rich tea-growing heritage. Located in the misty hills near Taipei, Pinglin offers a unique terroir that sets it apart from other oolong tea-producing regions.

Unlike many oolong teas grown at higher altitudes with intense sunlight, Pinglin’s Baozhong tea benefits from a low-to-mid-altitude geography (avg 1600ft) combined with a cool, humid climate. The region is frequently blanketed by mountain mist and gentle rain, which slows the tea leaves’ growth. This slower maturation allows the leaves to develop a more delicate structure and richer aromatic compounds. In contrast to high-mountain oolong teas, which often have a bold and creamy profile, Pinglin’s Baozhong tea is celebrated for its light, floral fragrance and refreshingly smooth taste.

To preserve its delicate profile while making it more versatile for everyday wellness, we apply a clean, chemical-free CO₂ decaffeination process. This method strips away 75% of the caffeine, reducing it to just 15–20 mg per cup—about half the caffeine of a typical can of soda—without using any harsh solvents. Our careful process is designed to balance caffeine removal with flavor preservation, ensuring the tea retains its depth, aroma, and naturally smooth finish.
